I am a commercial photographer based in San Francisco. I love to bring out the uniqueness of real estate, architecture, people, products and food.
I first got hooked on photography at age 20 on a trip to the Appalachian Mountains where I spent 35 days in the wilderness traveling with a Canon AE-1 and dozens of rolls of black and white film. Returning back to my hometown of Albuquerque, the adventures and people I met sprang back to life when the first prints appeared in the developer tray. My outlook would never be the same.
My projects have taken me to 64 countries so far including Brazil, Russia, Turkey, SE Asia, Eastern Europe, China, Cuba, East Africa and most recently Morocco.
I was an early adopter of digital technology and began my journey in 1992 on Photoshop version 2.0 and never looked back. Technology has continued to evolve but the connection between light and objects has stayed the same.
As a Photoshop expert and veteran studio and location photographer, I can bring your project from concept to completion in web or print.
In addition to running my photography business, I also teach photography and Photoshop classes at the Academy of Art in San Francisco.
My greatest talents are the ability to talk with anyone and to get nervous subjects to relax in front of my camera. You can particularly see this in my series of Cuban portraits where I met people on the street and put them at ease in Spanish which is not my native tongue.
I pride myself on delivering my projects on time and within budget, every time.
I love watching the light go on in my clients’ eyes when I bring their brand to life and give it a strong, loud voice.
